No more scratching you AR-15 lower receiver trying to tap out those hard to remove pins. This newly designed extended take-down pin has a 3/8" head so you can easily grab it with your fingers.
From Watsons Firearms, makers of the .50BMG AR-15 Conversions comes this black Teflon coated pin. Price is $7.95 direct from the manufacturer. ETA: Can be ordered here, and the price is $6.95. |

This section we hope to be able to use in order to have new product intros as quickly as we become aware of them, but it means we may have limited information on release dates, order details, and whatever else they forget to send us. If I'm not mistaken, Watsons is a very small family run business, and Larry and his wife are very friendly and helpful on the phone. Feel free to give them a call let them know you saw the product here and you would like more information. |

These appear similiar to YHM "EZ" Pins. I had a pair of YHM on my Bushy and they did offer an area to grip but the standard pins were easier to pull free then those from YHM. I wonder if these are just as bad.

I have just installed one and shot with it. I like it a lot. A first it is super tight and doesn't want to move. After about 10 or so push\pull it works just fine. Sometimes doesn't want to go in, but comes out just fine.

There is a reason the original pins were designed as they were. These new pins wont be going on my rifles. Why have something that could snag or accidentally open up on you? IMO they aren't for people who use their weapon in the woods for hunting.

I use the YHM's on my 6.8 and I use the gun for hunting in the FL woods- nothing has snagged them yet and believe me, if it hasn't snagged in FL, I have complete faith it won't- ever.. I'm gonna give these a try too. |

I have a set of yhm pins on my Bushmaster and RRA they are really tight at first but they do loosen up, I really like them and they don't snag the only complaint I have is if your a lefty and are using an ambi safety they make it a harder to operate the safety!

Hmm didn't know about the YHM's, but this was exactly what I was looking for!!
[edit] I'm guessing these guys would sell more if they made ordering a simple process. Sale lost. |

Its not a new item, as I bought one from Watson around 7-8 years ago. They are great for the intended purpose - a single shot .50BMG upper where you need to open and close the upper frequently.
They are nice for range guns if you shoot a lot and have an unreliable gun - like my dedicated Bushmaster Carbon-15 .22lr that hardly ever empties a magazine without a serious jam. Basically, if you open your gun more than average these are great. If you want a sleek AR they are not for you, but a lot of us have optics, charging handle latches, etc. that protrude more from the weapon than these do. |
